Pork Chops
These are soooo good! My husband cooked them for us one night and they are absolutely delicious! He got this from his cookbook, The Beer Lover's Cookbook by John Schlimm. That cookbook is definitely worth the purchase!
Ingredients:
4 Porkchops
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tbsp unbleached flour
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup beer
1/2 cup beef broth (hot)
1 tsp cornstarch
Cold water
1. Season the pork chops with the salt and pepper. Coat the chops with the flour. In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil. Add the pork chops, frying them for 3 minutes on each side. Cook the pork chops for 5 additional minutes, turning them once. Pour in the beer and broth. Simmer the mixture, covered, for 15 minutes.
2. Remove the pork chops to a heated platter. Season the pork chops to taste.
3. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with a little cold water, blending well. Stir this mixture into the sauce in the frying pan. Cook the sauce, uncovered, until it is thick and bubbling. Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
